Lost Soul Leather Guitar Strap and Products Review – Buy Nice or Buy Twice!
Introduction
We have something a little different for you! A guitar strap review! Why? Because it’s incredible, as well as for a few other reasons! Recently, we got this Lost Soul Leather guitar strap and let us tell you, it is incredible! We liked it so much that we thought the strap deserved its own review and article! However, we also wanted to chat about the other products that they make, as we believe they create some insane products!
We have spoken to Lost Soul Leather a few times on Instagram (links at the bottom of the page) and we finally got to meet at the Bristol Guitar Show. After trying out a few of their straps, as well as a few other items they sell, we were so impressed we put an order in! We do want to mention that Lost Soul Leather did give us a discount, but that doesn’t change how we feel about the products we will be mentioning!
We will start by going over the guitar strap that I ordered and then move on to some of the other guitar straps that they sent over for me to take a look at! There is a few! After we go over the Lost Soul Leather guitar straps, we will then move on to the other products they offer! If you want to see the products in more detail, you can check out the video below with some lovely close-ups of the products they offer!
Lost Soul Leather Guitar Straps
Lost Soul Leather produce many handmade leather items, ranging from guitar straps, to coasters, to wireless pack holders and much more! However, their guitar straps caught my attention, and after seeing them in person, I was blown away! A company that comes from one man working as an IT technician and making a leather seat for a motorcycle! This then evolved into a fully-fledged business. He has also worked as a guitar technician, so he could fine-tune his products for the stage and user. Every strap that they make is handmade – and I mean proper handmade! Even down to the stitching, it’s all done by hand! No sewing machines. This is a proper hand-crafted guitar strap!
He sent over a few guitar straps, as well as the one I ordered, which we will get to shortly. Looking at them all, there are a few designs and looks you can go for. The main thing you have to pick is the colour of the leather and the colour of the stitching! There is a lot to pick from! All of them feel sturdy, well-made, and super soft and comfy!

Last Model
The final strap we want to discuss is the “Fat Nail”. This strap is similar to the one above but slightly fatter with a few design changes! If you like the look of the strap above but wish it was wider, then the “Fat Nail” is perfect for you! Still slim and thin but with more material than the “Handsome Nail”.
One thing I love about ordering a Lost Soul Leather guitar strap is that you measure your current strap! You measure from hole to hole and send them over, then the Lost Soul Leather strap gets made to those measurements! However, the touch I really like is you get four extra holes, two above and two below! This gives you two inches of movement on either side for adjustments. A super nice feature! The straps really are built for you!
The Different Models
Lost Soul Leather do a few different designs, however, we are going to go over a few of our favourites! The “main” design is called “Wolf” and it is the design that I went for! A fairly thick strap with some adjustment that thins out a bit towards the back end. Very nice and very comfy! It allows your main leather colour to shine brightly, with the stitching giving a subtle highlight! The leather is soft and flexible while being strong and durable! Meaning it sits comfy, doesn’t ache your back, and also doesn’t dig into your shirts!
The next design is the Handsome Nail! This is a 3.4″ wide strap, so a lot thinner than the Wolf! It is also the same thickness from one end to the other! This makes the ratio of main leather to stitching a bit different and makes the stitching act as a pattern and almost the main feature of the strap! If you like your straps thinner, this is definitely the strap for you!

What Lost Soul Strap did I Get?
So, what Lost Soul strap did I get? I really liked their “Wolf” model. Wanted to get something that matches the LT Custom Strat. I originally was going to go for a blue strap with light blue stitching, however, he showed me a white and gold strap and I just loved the white, so I decided on a white strap with blue stitching. I also went for stainless steel for the buckle to tie it all in to the LT Custom Strat hardware.
As you can see from the pictures, it turned out so nice! I think going for the white leather really makes the strap look part of the guitar! It all looks amazing and feels insane to wear! The width is perfect and doesn’t ache or cause any pressure on my spine and shoulders! You can expect to see this strap a lot in future reviews and articles! I will be using it and wearing it a lot now, so expect it to feature a lot! Speaking to Lost Soul Leather, the leather I have gone for won’t patina or wear much, however, I am excited to see what wear it might get from hard use!
Final Words On handmade
We want to mention the title of this review — “Buy nice, or buy twice” — what this means is that you could buy a cheaper strap and save money, but more than likely that strap will break or won’t last, and you will be forced to buy another one. You will end up spending the same as you would on a Lost Soul Leather strap! These are hand-built, high-quality straps and thus they demand a higher price, however, it would be the last strap you will ever need to buy! So if you are a frequent performer, it would pay you to grab one of these.
"The wallets have plenty of room for cards and even some folded cash! Unless you are the kind of person who carries around 10+ cards, then these wallets will be fine for you!"
Lost Soul Leather Wallets
Lost Soul Leather also make wallets! They are what we would call “minimalist” wallets! And to get straight to the point, they are absolutely beautiful! The leather, the finish, and the designs are just amazing! Buy one of these wallets and you won’t need another wallet ever again! They are built to last (you might notice we are saying that a lot in this article). The wallets have plenty of room for cards and even some folded cash! Unless you are the kind of person who carries around 10+ cards, then these wallets will be fine for you!
As with everything Lost Soul Leather make, all the stitching has been done by hand! He sits down and stitches every item by hand! Alongside this, all the finishes on the edges and smoothing are done by hand! This all takes time and effort to complete, but allows each item to be finished to a high standard — which is something you will notice! As with the guitar straps, you will also be able to pick your leather and stitching colours, really making it yours!

More on the Wallets
Our favourite feature of the Lost Soul Leather wallets has to be the added pick holder! Being able to carry around a pick in your wallet in case you need to quickly play the guitar is super helpful! It is so useful when you are at shows, gigging, or even just walking around town and need to grab a pick! You can take one of your own picks with you if you want! Personally, I am very fussy with guitar picks — I have been using Rombo picks for a while now and always try to carry one around where possible. This makes it super useful!
Honestly, if you are after a present for yourself or maybe a loved one, this could be the perfect present! A super thoughtful gift! Give them something made for them!
Lost Soul Leather Keyring, Pick holders & Accessories

More on the Accessories
As with all the Lost Soul Leather products, there are plenty of colours to pick from and each item will pick up its own patina and wear, looking unique to the owner! This will apply to anything that you purchase. However, it is worth noting that only some leathers will develop a patina. Leathers like my guitar strap won’t! If you are after something that will patina, then make sure you ask when you order!
There are a few smaller items that Lost Soul Leather make. He sent a few of these over and we thought we would mention them! Firstly, the keyrings! They are simple, well-designed, and well-made — and it’s very nice that you can get one to match your wallet, strap, or any other product you might purchase! The keyring is a fairly simple design, but I think it is that simplicity that adds to its charm! The solid colour with the embossed stamp, key ring, and rivet makes a really nice extra to any keychain!
The next accessory is the pick holders! I guess these are also classed as keyrings, but they are super nice and a great way to make sure you have a spare pick on you! The Lost Soul Leather pick holders are a very nice, convenient, and classy way to carry around a spare pick! Attach them to your keys and you will have a spare pick always on hand!

Conclusion
I am so glad I got a Lost Soul Leather strap! It is absolutely killer! Not only does it look the part, but it also feels fantastic! Comfy and soft — exactly what you would expect with a fully hand-built product! The attention to detail is insane! The hand cutting, painting, and stitching just top the whole strap off!
Huge thanks to Lost Soul Leather for making this strap and hooking us up! I haven’t regretted it! I might have to have a chat with him about getting some more for my other guitars! Imagine an orange one for the Vintage Les Paul (Full Article Here).
