KraftGeek Capsule Music Stand Review – Is this the Ultimate Music stand!
Introduction
I have something different for you in this article! A music stand! KraftGeek reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in checking the KraftGeek Capsule Music stand! After looking at it, I thought it looked rather cool and decided to check it out! I saw that this music stand was a little different to most stands that you might see around; however, we will go over that shortly!
In this Article I will be reviewing the KraftGeek Capsule Music stand as I would use a music stand. I use my music stands in a variety of ways! Personally, I don’t use sheet music, I use an iPad! I also do use mine for music much, mainly for running sound during rehearsal (I don’t use a stand live). So this is a review on how I use this music stand.
KraftGeek did send me this product to review; however, that doesn’t affect my thoughts and all opinions on the KraftGeek Capsule music stand are my own! With that out the way, let us dive into the review! Why don’t we take a look at the stand and why it caught my interest!
The KraftGeek Capsule Music Stand
The KraftGeek Capsule Music stand is a compact, lightweight, and expandable music stand! Aimed to be super versatile but not impacting on performance footprint! Made from aluminium alloy and using non-slip pads, it allows for a super sturdy and strong stand while not impacting performance!
The main selling point of the KraftGeek Capsule Music stand is how small it folds up. The stand folds up to a super small 30cm and weighs just 1.16kg.
The viewing tray will tilt to a 30-degree angle, making sure viewing is comfortable for anyone and everyone. The viewing tray will also accept A4 or A3 paper, and using the built-in clips, you will be certain that your music isn’t going anywhere!
What About Tablets?
Want to be able to hold an iPad or tablet? Well, unscrew the Viewing Tray and screw in the FlexyMount Phone/Tablet Holder. This allows you to mount a phone or a tablet to the stand. However, if you want to be able to use both, then you can screw the tablet and phone holder into the stand itself and use both! Great for some more advanced setups!
If you find that you need a light, you can purchase their LumaLight accessories. This is a flexible, rechargeable light that can be clipped on or screwed into your stand to illuminate your sheet music! This is an optional extra and can be purchased with the stand if needed.
The Capsule music stand has the option to come with a gig bag. The bag is big enough to fit the stand when folded, the LumaLight, and the Table holder and still have room to add some extras in! Like cables or anything else! It has an extendable strap that allows you to hold it at any length you want.

The Product
Below is a quick video on the KraftGeek Capsule Music stand! I just took some short clips of the product and showed you what it looks like when fully extended. I also show you all some of the accessories that you can get for the Capsule Music stand as well! I also wanted to show you how much you can fit into the carry bag! There is more room than you would think, but we will get onto my thoughts shortly!

What are my thoughts?
The Design
I must give a nod to KraftGeek on their packaging! 95% of it was cardboard and could be recycled, and felt and looked incredibly high quality! From the outer sleeve to the sliding tray, it all just felt nice and well thought out! Some proper high-quality packaging! You know that when a product comes in packaging like this, then the product is going to be amazing!
The KraftGeek Capsule Music stand can fold up so small and is so light! When I first read about this stand, I didn’t believe how small and light it folded up! Considering how tall and wide the KraftGeek Capsule music stand can go, it folds up so small and is so light to carry! The capsule music stand is also very neat when folded away! Nothing hanging off or sticking out. This is good to know if you don’t plan on getting the bag. It won’t catch on anything!
The moment you start to use this stand, you can feel and see the design and thought that has gone into it. This isn’t just another stand that copied all the other designs! KraftGeek have looked at other stands and changed what we all hated! For example, removing the traditional legs and screw tightening system and replacing it with the wonderful twist bottom design! Super quick and sturdy!
"I would like to think they would hold up to heavy gigging and rehearsing!"
More on the Design
This is all well and good, but how does it actually cope with being a music stand? Well, I haven’t had any issues! It stands and resists knocks very easily! The wide leg spread means that it isn’t going to knock over without a fight! With the help of the clips on the main tray, you can be certain that your sheet music isn’t going anywhere! Those windy outdoor gigs? Your music will be rock solid! I have even used the main tray to hold my iPad to try out, and it even felt safe in that tray!
I want to talk about the carry case! It is so nice! Not only is the design and quality lovely, but they have thought about its design just as much as they did with the main stand itself! For example, there are three separate compartments to the bag. One for the stand, and two for the two accessories. However, even after putting these items in the bag, there is still enough room for some other items. For example, I am putting my extension power strip in there.
While we are discussing the accessories, I think it is worth mentioning that the two accessories I received with this stand had just as much thought and design as the stand itself! They are wonderfully made and feel super strong! I would like to think they would hold up to heavy gigging and rehearsing!
The Usability
One of my favourite functions of this music stand, and one of the main selling points, is the adaptable elevation. No clips or screws! Just grab the pole and lift it up! Such a great feature for fine-tuning while playing or in-between songs. The stand as a whole is so quick to set up and so easy to break down! Making load-in and load-out amazing!
Having the phone holder is a huge bonus! I love the fact that you can either have it as your main viewing area, or add it to the top of the stand and have it as an extra! That is how I use it, I have my iPad on the main viewing tray and then attach my phone just under it! This allows me to use the iPad as a mixer or for charts and use my phone for recordings or anything else I might need!
The Drawbacks
Understandably, some of you might have seen the price above and thought “that is a bit much for a music stand”. Well, that is true to some degree. If you don’t use music stands that much, then yes. It might be a bit expensive! However, if you are a frequent user of music stands, you will know how much music a game changer a god stand is a game-changer!
From what I can see, there isn’t a way to unscrew the main tray to only use the tablet holder! This isn’t a huge deal as I find myself using both anyway; however, if you only wanted to use a phone or tablet, then you would want to remove the tray.
"If you are going to buy the KraftGeek Capsule music stand"
Final Thoughts
If you use a music stand frequently and want something small, simple, and sturdy, then this is the one you need! I have left mine in the carry bag, and I leave it in the boot of my car! I can grab it when I need it then! Like I said above, I have a few other things in the carry case as well, like an extension cable and some spare cables. It’s nice to have everything I might need in one bag!
In my honest opinion, if you are going to buy the KraftGeek Capsule music stand, then you will want to buy the whole package! Get the full lot, the gig bag, LumaLight, and tablet stand! They are all super useful, and for the extra money, each one is worth it!
Conclusion
