Guitar Stuff I don’t regret buying – Purchases I’m glad I made that are guitar related!
Introduction
There is a lot of guitar stuff you can buy – stuff I have bought! However, what have I bought that I don’t regret buying? What items, stuff, and gear have I picked up that I can say, hand on heart, I don’t regret buying? So, in this article, I will go over 10 items that I have bought that I truly feel are worth their money!
Some of this guitar stuff will cost a bit, some will be super affordable, and some will be dirt cheap! However, what I want to point out is that everything on this list was purchased by me! I paid for these items with my own money and have been using them for a while. Most of these items are used every single day! This isn’t so much about the price of an item, but about how much use I get out of it – and how often I feel, “I’m glad I have this.”
So why don’t we dive straight into the first item on our list of guitar stuff we don’t regret buying? It’s a simple one!
This article will contain some links that are affiliate links! This means if you click the link and buy something, we get a small commission on that purchase! It doesn’t cost you anything more, but it’s a great way to support the channel!
Clip on Tuner
This is such a small purchase; however, I have found myself using it every single day! I like to play my guitars unplugged – I sit on my sofa and noodle and practice – so to make sure I’m in tune, I always reach for my clip-on tuner! For me, I’m using the D’Addario clip-on tuner. It has been super solid, super reliable, and in the years that I have owned it, I’ve only had to replace the battery once!
They are so easy to clip onto the top of your headstock and tune up quickly! Buy a few and keep them in gig bags, on your pedalboard, and on your desk! They are super affordable and super easy to use! You can pick them up in any music shop; however, if you want the one I have, then you can use the link below to purchase one!
ACS Custom IEM Monitors
When my band moved over to using IEMs, I wanted to get the best experience – so I got a set of ACS Custom IEMs! I wanted a set of IEMs that were high quality but not overly expensive. After using these IEMs for over a year now, I must say they do an incredible job! They block out sound amazingly well, they’re super comfy to wear, and the fit and finish on them is excellent!
I picked ACS because they seemed like they offered good quality while still being good value! They sort out everything – from the impressions to the making and postage! Also, I must say that their customer service is amazing! I had a small issue with mine, and they got me to send them back – they were fixed under warranty with no questions asked!
"The straps are built to last a lifetime and only get better and better the more you use them!"
Lost Soul Leather Strap
This was a fairly recent purchase, but one that I have loved owning ever since I got it! That is my custom-made Lost Soul Leather guitar strap! I got it made to match the custom LT Strat – but since owning it, I have loved using it and wearing it! The custom length makes it super comfy to wear, with the extra 2 inches on either side in case I feel like I want to adjust it one day!
Granted, they aren’t cheap – but they are made in the UK and are outstanding quality! The straps are built to last a lifetime and only get better and better the more you use them! So, for me, they are definitely worth the price and are so much better than those nylon or cheap leather ones you might get! If you buy a Lost Soul Leather strap, you won’t need to buy another one!
If you want to check out some of their products and other guitar straps, You can see more in our full review!! (Full Review here). We go over various strap and leather goods!
iReal Pro (iPad App)
This app has changed how I write solos and practice! iReal Pro is an iPad app that allows you to write chord charts and then get a full band to play them back to you! It is incredible! Have a solo you need to practice? Write in the chords and click play – now you can loop it and practice the solo and chord changes!
It has a huge online community that uploads various songs you can download! So if you’re after a certain song, you can log on, download the chart, and just hit play! It is such a good practice tool. Ten minutes a day with this app and you will honestly become a much better guitarist!
iReal Pro is technically free; however, I highly recommend that you invest and purchase a few of the sound packs. I bought the blues pack, and it has some amazing sounds on it!
Ritter Guitar Case
If I’m honest, this isn’t an item I intentionally wanted to buy! However, when I bought my LT Custom Guitar (Full Article Here), it came in a Ritter guitar case! Since then, all my guitars go in a Ritter case – I just like them! They don’t do anything fancy or outstanding; they’re just amazing quality at a fab price!
I have one for the Vintage VSA500 (Full Review) and my LT Custom V! Every Ritter bag I own is a different one from their lineup – ranging from the top-of-the-line model to the more “basic” one! Honestly, they’re all incredible!
If you’re after high-quality guitar stuff – like a great gig bag – but don’t want to spend the kind of money some big brands are asking for, then you should definitely check out Ritter guitar cases and bags! Super good value and super high quality!
"Knowing I have a cab sim and load box that I can just pick up and go with is so helpful!"
Two Note Captor X
The Two Notes Captor X has helped me out not only with running this website but also with live gigs and rehearsals many times! Knowing I have a cab sim and load box that I can just pick up and go with is so helpful! Alongside that, I also use it almost every single day when recording demos or sound samples of amps and pedals. It’s so easy to use, and being able to swap out cabs for an amp is huge!
They aren’t the cheapest – the Captor X version is fairly expensive – but if you want the ability to run your amps at home, either just using the load box feature or using the cab sims, then I don’t think there’s a better option on the market when you look at price, performance, and features. Pair this with the size of the unit, and it just makes for the perfect studio weapon!
If you’re interested in trying one out, you can either get the fully-fledged Captor X version or the more affordable base model (Full Review Here). I’ve linked both below! Just be sure to buy the one that matches your amp’s speaker output load!
Boss Katana Mini
We did a review on the Boss Katana Mini, so if you want to check out our full thoughts, then head over and check out the review (Full Review here). However, as I said above, I normally play unplugged, and if I’m recording, then I’ll be using headphones. So, in the times I want to play through an actual amp but am wary of volume, I always reach for the Boss Katana Mini! It’s small, has plenty of usable sounds, and is a great tool for practicing!
I’ve recommended them to so many friends – whether they’re professional guitarists or complete beginners! They’re amazing to just have around and reach for when you need them. The batteries last a super long time! I just throw some rechargeable batteries in mine, and when they get low, I whip them out and charge them up!
The Brown channel on this amp is so much fun – great to just sit there and noodle! Pair that with the built-in delay, and you’ve got a fun little amp you can use to practice your riffs or jam along to your favourite tracks using the Aux input. If you’re restricted by volume or space, then I highly recommend you check out the Boss Katana Mini – it’s one piece of guitar stuff I absolutely don’t regret buying!
Shock proof Case
This was a really recent purchase! Due to my band switching to IEMs and also expanding my board with a wah pedal, I found I had a lot of little things to carry – cables, wah pedal, IEM headphones, and receiver – so I wanted a way to carry them all in one bag or box. I started looking at Pelican cases, but for what I needed them for, they were just too expensive and a bit overkill! So, I managed to pick one up on AliExpress for something like £10, and it has done the job just fine!
I was able to sculpt the interior foam to fit all the bits I needed to. It’s small enough not to take up too much room in the studio, and it’s lightweight but still feels like it offers a decent level of protection!
It really takes a lot of stress out of a gig knowing you have all your bits and bobs in one box! I’ve labelled up one side of the case with everything inside, so I know what’s in there (or should be in there at least).
"Like using recycled vinyl records to create picks, as well as recycled plastic and other eco-friendly materials!"
Rombo Guitar Picks
We have worked with the guys at Rombo a lot on various releases they’ve done! However, we have also purchased many picks from them! Since trying them out for the first time a few years ago, I haven’t used any other pick. They have various shapes and thicknesses, and I must say – everything about them is just amazing!
Personally, I use the “Diamond” pick. This is a fairly thick pick at 2mm. However, they also offer thinner picks, as well as a range of materials and grip textures! If you’re finding that you don’t feel comfortable when you play guitar, then it might be your pick! I would highly recommend checking out Rombo picks and giving their variety pack a go. This contains all their shapes, and you’ll likely find something that suits you!
They’re a husband-and-wife team operating out of Germany – and they’re doing some really exciting things. Like using recycled vinyl records to create picks, as well as recycled plastic and other eco-friendly materials! Super excited to see what other guitar stuff they produce!
Schmidt Array SA350 Pedalboard
This was a huge purchase and isn’t really classed as “guitar stuff”! I have a whole review on this pedalboard that you can check out if you want to read our full thoughts! (Full Review). However, considering how much these pedalboards cost, I was very wary about purchasing one – but it has proved itself to be amazing! The patch bay, lid, and shelf are just so handy and perfect to have!
Due to what this site does, we have a lot of pedals and gear come in – meaning the pedalboard is always chopping and changing! So having everything on hand and easy to swap out, while maintaining a certain level of tidiness and organisation, is so easy on the Schmidt Array boards!
If you are serious about guitar and want to take your rig to the next step, then you should definitely check them out! You can either have one made to order or browse their big selection of “in stock” boards!
Conclusion
Hopefully, this has given you some ideas of things you might want to check out – or even reminded you of gear you already own but need to use more! Feel free to use the affiliate links if you want to purchase any of the items above – it helps out the channel massively!
