Guitar gift Ideas for your loved ones! – What to get someone for that special day!

Introduction

Got a partner, a friend, or even just a family member who is a guitarist? Need to buy them something for a special day? Or just to say you appreciate them? Well, below is a list of some guitar gift ideas that aren’t the normal gift ideas that get recommended. These will show that you have done research and thought about them rather than just Google “guitar gift ideas” and see what people say!

The list below will start from the cheapest to the most expensive guitar gift ideas. Some of the gift ideas will include links to purchase them. These links will be affiliate links. If you buy something through these links, it won’t cost you anything extra, but I receive a small commission! It is a nice way to help support the site and allow me to continue making reviews and articles!

Guitar Picks

Guitar Gift Ideas - Rombo Guitar Picks
Getting cables that are the perfect length and high quality takes out any doubt when setting up your rig for a gig! I haven't had to think "will this cable work" for a while since getting these cables!

When I say guitar picks, I don’t mean your standard guitar picks, I mean some nice and fancy guitar picks. There are a few companies out there that make some very nice guitar picks. Something a little special! Something that could be made out of a nice material or a special shape! Below are two companies I recommend, they are both small “Mom and Pop” companies! So definitely worth checking out.

The first one is a brand that I am very familiar with! Rombo Guitar picks! (Review Here) These are great value and outstanding to play with! They come in various shapes, thicknesses, and colours so you will definitely be able to get something to suit the present receiver!

The second brand is Honey Picks! They make some incredible picks that look and feel amazing! I haven’t had a lot of time playing them but I will be buying some to try out, so a full review is incoming! However, what I have tried left me very impressed indeed!

Guitar Strings

Again, this may seem like a super simple thing and not that great a present! However, as a guitarist myself, there is nothing more comforting than knowing you have a stash of guitar strings in a drawer somewhere! Nice to have a few packs lying around! This is why I am recommending it as a gift! You can buy someone one, two or even multiple packs of guitar strings and make sure they have strings! It will honestly be a super useful gift for them!

For me, I like Ernie Ball strings! You can buy these in packs of 3. Which is always a welcomed gift. However, most string brands come in multi-packs. You can have a look at the links below and see what is available!

This gift will be even more welcomed if they are a bass player as their strings are a little bit more! The hardest part about getting this gift is knowing what brand and string gauge they use. It is important to get those bits right!

Guitar Stand

This is something a lot of guitarists overlook but is super useful and popular! A guitar stand! You can get big, bulky ones, but I have a soft spot for the small ones that fold up! These are great to set up if you plan to play throughout the day or keep your guitar safe at a gig! They are not that much money and come in a range of styles and colours! I have put some recommendations below for you to check out.

There are two schools of thought for this: that you play mostly at home and if your guitar is easy to reach, then you will play it more. So if you wake up on Sunday and put it in your living room, then you will pick it up throughout the day. On the other side of things, if you have it at a gig on stage, it is somewhere safe to put your guitar, and I think it looks more professional on a stand than led up against an amp or on the floor.

Guitar Pedal

This may sound like it could get expensive; however, you could grab them a nice, affordable, and fun guitar pedal. There are a few examples I can think of and will go through them briefly below. Which one you might want to get will depend on what kind of player they are and what kind of pedal or effect they need.

My first recommendation is a pedal from Tone City! Most of these are around the £40 mark and sound great! There is a huge array of pedals ranging from overdrives to effects. A lovely little present that is almost certain to get used in their rig!

The next brand is Behringer; they have a range of super affordable pedals, like the EQ700 (Review Here) or CL9 Compressor (Review Here). They also do a slightly better range of pedals, like their take on the Klon (Review Here). These are around £50-£80 but are much better quality and, from my experience, amazing pedals!

Practice Amp

This is a super cool and also useful gift! You can grab them a small practice amp. Something like the Boss Katana or the Blackstar Fly will be not only a cool gift but useful! I have always found that having a small practice amp around makes me play more, thus, makes me practice more! Pair this with the stand idea above and they will be able to practice wherever they are in the house!

They are super good value as well! The Boss Katana mini (Review Here) is great value and sounds incredible! Not as feature-packed as some of the others but for its size it can sound huge! It even sounds amazing with pedals! I am looking to review the Blackstar Fly shortly but from what I have heard they sound amazing and are plenty loud enough for most people’s home needs!

Worth noting that there are good practice amps and bad practice amps. The Blackstar Fly, Nux and Katana Mini are all great amps; however, the mini Marshall and Fender amps are not so great. The Orange Crush Mini sits in-between! It can be good and can be rubbish. You can check out my full review for sounds (Review here)

Guitar Strap

This may seem like a cheap item; however, if you want to really treat someone, you can get them a super high-quality strap! For me, I love my Lost Soul Leather Strap (Review Here). Since getting it, I have absolutely no complaints about it! It is soft, comfy, and hard-wearing!

I will be honest, they are not cheap! Which is why they are last in this list, but they are the best of the best guitar straps! Made by one man, by hand in the UK! You won’t find higher-quality straps than this!

Pair this with the ability to pick from a whole range of colours, you can really customise the strap to their guitar! Make it match perfectly! Or get something proper wild and out there! The options are almost endless! If you want to see more, you can check out his website below! Lost Soul Leather has a range of guitar straps that come in a wide array of shapes and sizes!

Conclusion

That are a few of my recommendations for guitar gift ideas! These are actually useful gifts that I believe any guitarist will enjoy and actually use! Something a little different than the standard band t-shirt! I believe that if you are going to spend money on a gift, then make sure it is something that will actually get used and is useful! With something like a guitar, you will have to do a little bit of research for things like the guitar strings or guitar picks!

Is there anything you buy your guitarist person as a gift? Anything you feel should be on the list here? Let me know over on our contact page (Contact Page). Would love to see what ideas you all have! Maybe I will do a part 2 with some more gifts! Maybe increasing the price range a little bit! For those big special occasions!
