10(ish) Questions with JSA Pedals – We talk Pedal Pricing, Manufacturing and Designs!

JSA Pedals Interview - Article Header

Introduction

I have known Simon from JSA Pedals for a while! He was one of the first people to help the site out, and since then I have reviewed and also bought a lot of pedals from him!

JSA Pedals defines the meaning of hand-built and boutique! A one-man operation building custom and semi-production pedals which are amazing quality, amazing sounding, and also an amazing price! I finally got the chance to sit down with him and pick his brains about a few things!

Being friends with Simon means I can ask him some pretty serious questions about the pedal industry and also get into some nerdy circuit questions with him! So if you want to know where to start when building pedals, what makes them expensive, or the best mass-produced pedal, then strap in and give the video below a watch!

JSA Pedals Interview

Check out the full interview with JSA Pedals below! If you go over to YouTube, I have put some of the questions in the description so you can jump around and listen and learn about whatever you want! Remember to let me know your thoughts in the comments! I want to do more interviews, so if you can think of anyone you would like me to interview, then please let me know in the Gigs and Guitars YouTube comments.

Conclusion

Huge thanks to Simon for spending the time to chat to me about pedals and other things! Hope you all enjoyed the conversation!  It was really good to chat to a small boutique builder and learn about all the problems they face that some of the massive companies don’t have to worry about! Hopefully, you all learned something from it, and maybe you will look at your pedals a slightly different way!

I have done many JSA Pedal reviews on the website, some of which you will find a link for below, as well as the JSA Pedals Reverb page. However, if you want a pedal or can think of a pedal you would like built, then give him a shout over on his Instagram! The guy is a wizard with electronics!
